Saturday morning, Elaine taught her class while I stayed upstairs preparing lunch. She was very excited about paper clay and has several inclusions of dimentional objects in her journals. She cuts out a hole in as many pages as necessary to bury the object. Since she journals in spiral bound water color tablets, the paper is strong enough to hold it's shape. Everyone took out their clay and used rubber stamps and tiny cookie cutters to insize the clay. When I joined the class I brought some crocheted lace and used that to imprint the clay. I enjoyed the results.
Every one charged ahead and set the clay out on top of the cars to dry. After the pieces dry, they can be painted.
Here we see Elaine's desk. She has molds, tiny cookie cutters and rubber stamps. I had thought of the possibility of cutting pieces out of a flat piece.
That's quite a set up you have for conducting classes! Looks like everyone was totally into what they were doing. I really like having the pictures to go along with all the writing.
