I had one day with Evie before I had to leave for Nebraska and it just so happened to be her 48th Birthday so natuarally we celebrated. I bought three cakes so she would know that we really loved her and that we were really going to miss her as she and Joe moved to D.C.. This one had a pink elephant on it. Please note, these people are not eyeing the cakes....they are eyeing the technology. Do they ever stop texting?
Well finally we lit the cake with the only candle we had on hand and we lit into the cake and then we decided we would roast Evie. However it's a problem roasting someone whose only foible is that she can speak to three different poeple while she's on the phone with you. Other than that, she's perfect. Well, we did the best we could; otherwise we would all have been in tears.
I should have had more children so more of them would live closer. As Maureen said, "What am I ....chopped liver?" That's right. She still lives five minutes away and doesn't wish to be ignored. Thank goodness for Maureen and the boys. But we will all miss Evalyn, Joe and the girls.
More children???? I don't think so!! You've got a huge family - spread all over this country! It gives you a good reason to keep traveling! I know it will be very hard to have Evie and Joe not so near by but it is only temporary. And I'm sure the Fox family will keep you plenty busy. By the way, those cakes look YUMMY! I know it was a special occasion - happy and sad - but shared together. That's the important part.
