July 1st is my daughter Evie's birthday. I wanted to make her something special that she could take with her on her journey to the East Coast and her new home. I have some fabulous scraps of miraculous ties and they looked so right with a Japanese piece or two. Then just in case Maureen felt left out I made one for her too. They are just fold over envelope bags with a gusset. Each piece of the bag is sewn together with batting so all the edges are finished and then assembled with the finished seams outside. Keep the construction simple and the color complex. Embellish the piece to distraction and you have something small to look at when your on the road and homeless as Evie and Joe are until they get to D.C.
The colors and patterns are great sure do make these little bags BIG stand outs! I'm sure they were quite the hit.
