For the past 10 years, I have been part of a artist exchange with a group known as the Gypsy Girls. Although the names have changed over the years, the fun and excitement is still there. Each year, we chose our themes for our books. Each person contributes a page(front and back) that is their interpretation of the theme for each book. This particular theme was "A Shrine to Mexico" and my interpretation is "A Broken Heart and A Contrite Spirit".
This is the page by Connie Cox who owns this book. It uses some fantastic buckles on it and notice the incredible colors.
Here are the other pages. This challenge is really fun because it makes you look at things in different ways and it allows your imagination to go crazy. I couldn't find fabric that did the trick so I painted mine on stabelized fabric and then sealed it with Modge Podge. The lace was rayon colors that were dyed.
I love your colorful blog, work and personality! Thanks for showing such a fine array of fabulous work and ideas.
