Not just because times are a bit tighter than the past....But, because there is nothing better than opening a gift that someone special has made specifically for the person opening the present.....Gracie made her first Christmas Gift...and we wanted to share it with you...because it really does make a great gift.....and I have never seen Gracie prouder of something she has done....
We made a pillow, but you could make a quick potholder, wall hanging, quilt, tote bag....it is limitless
Soooo go gather some fabric, fabric paints, and trims......Painting and gathering embellishments were Gracies favorite part.....
We used a paintbrush and Jacquard paints to cover Gracie's hands and then carefully but firmly placed the hands on the fabric (these are her wings)....Then we put the fabric out of kids reach and rushed to the sink to clean up the hands....Wet wipes would have been good to have on hand...
This is a piece of fabric that Gracie freely painted...we trimed it with Jumbo Ric-Rac and lined the back to create an angel dress!
While the paints were out we did a few extra to use sometime.....the floating dots will eventually be butterflies.
Gracie picked out her favorite Tina Givens fabric for the border...We used Jacquard Photo Sheets to print her photo....They are fabulous....so easy and such a deal....we are now carrying them on our website!!! The photo is crisp and clear...The stabalized fabric runs thru the printer easily...just like printing a paper photo!!! We got the idea from a fabuluos book that we also carry--Calender Kids Hand Prints thru the Year There are 14 projects in the book.....SO Fun and the KIDS had a blast and Grandma Loved her Pillow!!

What a wonderful idea!! Great job Gracie!!
Happy New Year Beth!!

Angel wing hands. Who'da thunk it?
That'll be a keepsake that grows in value every year that passes by. Gracie is a very talented young lady! It is no wonder my sister, Willa, wanted me to check out your blog. Keep up the good work.

I like how you made flowers out of the hand prints. It adds a touch of your own style, literally and figuratively! These days, flowers given on All Hearts Day take on all kinds of shapes!
